About other beautiful/ugly things
“Soy manso, sensible, aborrezco la sangre…” F. Pessoa, in Una cena muy especial
1. Stories and myths
The sad story of the dead monoblock is a series of paintings fondly related to Love Below. It challenges the spectator in the same way, showing sexual imaginery of women genitalia in pornographic poses, and in a purposely uncomfortable close-up of the object of interest: the insides (body and mind) of human beings. These pictures pretend to be intriguing, provoke curiosity and awake a personal sense of self-consciousness through the deep sexual desires of our own body.
The artwork is connected to a world many people are familiar with. It is about pornography, body knowledge through sexual arousal and masturbation which is, in my opinion, a very animalistic talent of us humans. All are subjects that seem obscure, taboo-like, easily deniable and definitely avoidable.
