About repulsion and love
Love down there.
Love below
Amor abajo
Amor en las partes bajas.
Are the prohibited issues of life, really prohibited?
(Isn't it sex more related to love than the ideal of love itself?)
Love below explores eroticism from the perspective of those things we desire but are considered disgusting, untasteful and traditionally avoided in a moral way. It's a series of sewn artworks made with fabric and embroidery techniques that allude to a sensorial memory. They evoke sensual or desirable tactile memories, brought by textures and organic forms that obviously suggest female or male genitalia, something that we are not supposed to touch.
(Why does contradiction seems to exist in such an old issue as sex and love? Why are those situations unacceptable in which we inevitably feel pleasure with objects or ideas that are not supposed to be normal?)
